Evaluations typically involve a detailed clinical interview along with objective assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, including motivational factors that might influence clinical presentation or test performance. The extent of evaluation can vary based on the question of the referral source and the nature of the client’s condition. Our evaluations might involve a brief screening to assess the validity of complaints, focused assessment of specific domains, or a more comprehensive assessment of overall functioning.
Results of the evaluation are documented in clearly worded comprehensive written reports. Evaluations can be used to quantify changes in an individual’s capabilities, to assist in determining the functional implications of a condition for the purposes of disability determination or other legal proceedings, as well as to assist in determining treatment plans/educational plans. Primary areas of expertise include: Academic testing, emotional/cognitive assessments, traumatic brain injury assessment, chronic pain syndromes, and post-traumatic stress.
